Despite the best efforts of psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical researchers, psychological disorders appear to be as prevalent today as they ever were—if not more so. What might be the cause of this phenomenon? Inadequate genetic makeup? Inadequate parenting? Inadequate social structures? What is different in our culture today than in previous generations? Week 7, DQ 1 To be honest, I don’t think that anything is universally attractive because of the fact that no matter what you may find attractive, someone else is going to find it to not be attractive. We are all different as individuals and we all have different opinions on different things. You would think that an attribute like Kindness would be universally attractive, however there are people out there that hate kindness and if you are kind to them, they will tear you down etc… I believe that one’s sense of beauty is intrinsic but at the same time learned. The reason that I say this is because naturally you are going to have a sense of beauty, however at the same time, some people tend to let other’s opinions influence them until they believe that is what they feel and it becomes a part of them.
