Compare and contrast the purposes and outcomes of a juvenile trial vs. an adult criminal trial. Explain the ways in which justice is sought in both, and provide your personal opinion of whether or not the juvenile trial and disposition system are the best way to handle juvenile offenders from both a social and criminal justice perspective. Response 1 The intended purpose of the juvenile’s justice system is to rehabilitate a juvenile versus the adult system which seeks equal punishment for the crime committed.

These two justice systems serve two different purposes and were obviously never intended to be mixed. Juvenile courts have some similarities to adult courts, but for the most part they operate differently. This is to provide the juvenile with the best care, rehabilitation, and privacy.
